How to prepare for your appointment.
A little prep in the days before your session helps color take evenly and keeps bruising and swelling to a minimum — for brows, lips, or eyeliner alike.
In the Days Before
A few simple swaps go a long way.
Do
- Come with a clean face — no makeup on the treatment area
- Eat a meal beforehand — an empty stomach makes a 2+ hour session harder
- Bring reference photos if you have a specific shape or shade in mind
- Mention any medications, conditions, or allergies at your consultation
Don't
- Drink alcohol or caffeine for 24–48 hours before — both thin the blood and can increase bruising
- Take aspirin or ibuprofen beforehand unless your doctor says otherwise
- Use retinol, exfoliants, or chemical peels on the treatment area for 1–2 weeks prior
- Tan or sunburn the treatment area in the two weeks before
- Get brow tinting, waxing, or lash extensions right before a brow or eyeliner appointment
Once your appointment is done, healing takes over — see the full aftercare and healing timeline for what to expect over the following weeks.
